Riads in Marrakech
Experience Morocco pure in a more than 200 years old riad. Riad
hotels only exist in the medina of Marrakech, their comfort equalling
that of hotels in every respect. If you stay in our exclusive
feel-good hotel, you will live as in 1001 Nights. Riad - that
is what the traditional grand upper-class houses or palaces are
called in Morocco, where the actual building surrounds an interior
greened-up courtyard. The Arab term “ryad” means a
garden divided in four paths by four trees.
This type of houses can be found especially in Marrakech and Essaouira.
Many riads have been converted into hotels and have become real
oases of quiet amidst the busy streets in the medinas. The interiors
of the houses remain a secret for any passer-by. One of the riads
that have been converted into a hotel is “La Maison Nomade”,
set up in a house that was built more than 200 years ago.
In the courtyard our guests can taste the delicious Moroccan food,
such as Tajine, Couscous or Harira (a Moroccan soup) and enjoy
the wonderful quiet. The comfortable oriental parlour is also
at your disposal.
Of course all the meals are freshly prepared in our own restaurant.
The holiday-makers should also enjoy the last sunbeams on our
spacious roof terrace - a very special moment before night falls
on the city.
The 7 rooms of the hotel have all been decorated in an oriental
style and reflect the magic of 1001 Nights from the bed to the
lamps and carpets and to the decoration of the walls and bathrooms.
The atmosphere in the riad becomes especially exotic when a belly
dancer presents her really astounding skills in front of the guests
from all over the world. These evenings scintillate in an incredible
beauty which is really captivating.
We even offer a special package for newly-wed couples.
